I am currently looking for restaurants that would like to include an Act4Murder
performance on their Special Events calendar. We would love to perform at your restaurant, scheduled around your needs, your goals, and your clientelle. All we need is a 3-course meal (salad, entree and dessert), a room for performance, a performance night, and a
"Green Room" for the actors and Act4Murder staff during the production. It really couldn't be simpler!
I have compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions below.
If your questions are not answered here, please call or email me, and
I'll be happy to answer them for you.
What is this?
What is this?
This is murder mystery for dinner theater. I provide the comedic murder mystery, you provide the restaurant and a 3-course meal (salad, entree and dessert).

How could this benefit my restaurant?
Offering special events to your clientelle is a great way to increase your business, and murder mystery is a very special event! We've found that the restaurants we perform in on a regular basis have increased their business, not only on murder mystery nights, but every night, and we can do the same for you!
Back to FAQ's
How many people can you perform for?
The ideal number varies based on a number of factors. We will perform for as few as 25, and have performed for as many as 200.
Back to FAQ's
Where would you be willing to perform?
We have performed in Ft. Walton Beach, Shalimar, Okaloosa Island, Niceville, DeFuniak Springs,
Pensacola, Destin, and Sandestin. We can perform anyplace and are willing to travel!
Back to FAQ's
Tell me about the room you need for performance.
The room can be a square or rectangular shaped room. "L" shaped rooms can be used as long as all the guests are seated in one part of the "L," not both.
Back to FAQ's
Do you need a stage?
No. The performers work around the tables in the dining room. Some shows require a space at one end of the room to set up special needs for the show, or for any dancing that might be in the show, but no stage is necessary.
Back to FAQ's
What kind of meal would I serve?
You would serve a salad, an entree and a dessert. The restaurants I've worked with previously offer 3 choices for the entree. You need to keep your kitchen in mind when deciding on the meals. In general, a chicken, fish and pasta dish are offered. I can help you with this if you need guidance.
Back to FAQ's
This sounds complicated, how will my staff know what to do?
I provide a detailed schedule to you either before or on the performance night, and will explain everything to the staff as far as when each course is served, when the actors are performing, when orders can be taken, when drinks can be refilled, etc., etc.

What in the heck is a Green Room?
A Green Room is a room the actors and Act4Murder staff use during the performance to wait between scenes, rehearse lines, and store show props. The room can be an office, another dining area, a dressing room, or a well-ventilated utility or storage room. We obviously prefer a big, roomy area with chairs and tables, but we just aren't all that picky.
Back to FAQ's
Can I keep the restaurant open during a performance?
Yes and No. Yes if you have more then one dining area and the areas are physically separated in some way. Otherwise, no. The restaurant would need to be closed to walk-in's on the night of the performance.
Back to FAQ's
Tell me about the costs.
You, the restaurant owner, will determine the cost of the 3-course meal including tax and tip. Once this is decided, the cost of the mystery will be determined, on a per person basis, and added to your per person cost to come up with the total. You pay nothing to Act4Murder until after the event, and again, it is on a per person basis.
Back to FAQ's
What do you provide on performance night?
How would the show be promoted?
I take care of the bulk of the tasks needed to promote the show, at no cost to you.
What do we provide to you?
How long will the evening last?
With a cash bar and a 3-course meal, the evening takes a little over 3 hours from start to finish.
For my productions, there is generally
a cash bar from 6:15 until 7:00, the show begins at 7:00, then we are finished between 9 and 9:30.
Back to FAQ's
Are the plays suitable for all audiences?
The plays contain adult themes. Everything is presented in a comedic style, but in addition to murder, there is
often adultery as a sub-plot, and plenty of sexual inuendo. NONE of my plays contain any drug or gang related material, nor is there any
"bad" language included in the dialog, but in general, my plays are written for adult entertainment.

Do you have any special holiday shows?
Yes. I have a Valentine's Day show, a Halloween show and a holiday Christmas show. You must plan early to schedule these
shows during the applicable holiday season, so call or email me quickly if you're interested in details about these two shows.
Back to FAQ's
How and when do I pay?
The contract must be signed at least 30 days in advance of the performance date. On the night of the performance, the number of guests are counted and verified by your staff and an Act4Murder staff member, then payment is due within one week of the performance. I accept checks -
no credit or debit cards.

I want Act4Murder to perform at my restaurant, what do I do?
Once you decide you do want Act4Murder to perform at your restaurant,
we must get your first performance date on the Act4 calendar, select a show, and sign a contract. Next the meal selection must be made so I can make flyers and begin show promotion. And that's it!
